Brainlessness

A few years ago they threatened us with a collection agency over my deceased mother-in-law in another state's missing comcast box they'd lost when they cut the cable off in her now sold house. We tried to be nice and explain to them they were speaking with a person 3,000 miles away about a dead person. Finally one day a person called here that had a brain and we never heard another word.

I always call and start the conversation by saying "I want to disconnect my service". They immediately transfer me to someone whose job it is to keep my service. I play the game ("retired, fixed income, can no longer afford it, considering Century Link/Dish" etc.) and eventually we come to an agreement. It's highway robbery, but what else can you do? The options are few and all lousy. Good luck, Linda.
